Since 2005 the University of Iceland's Institute of Human Rights has published abstracts of judgments rendered by the European Court of Human Rights; grants from the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights support the publication. Judgments from January-June are in the first volume, which usually comes out in October, and judgments from July-December come out in the second volume in April the next year. The judgment abstracts are distributed at no cost with Attorneys' Journal.
In 2005 the institute published the scholarly work European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms – Principles, Practice and Impact on Icelandic Law, in cooperation with the Faculty of Law of Reykjavik University. 750 copies of this publication have been sold.
In 2009 the Institute of Human Rights published The United Nations´ Human Rights Convention – Principles, Implementation and Impact on Icelandic Law.
The book Shifting Centres of Gravity in Human Rights Protection - Rethinking Relations between the ECHR, EU and National Legal Orders, will be published by Routledge in March 2016. Edited by Oddný Mjöll Arnardóttir and Antoine Buyse.
The findings of research projects are also published on the institute's website, see here.
